How to travel to Le Trabet

How to travel by car

Carcassonne is well connected to the motorway (A61) that connects Bordeaux at the French Atlantic coast via Toulouse with Narbonne at the French Mediterranean coast. This "Route entre Les Deux Mers" makes Carcassonne and Le Trabet easy accessible by car from every major city in Europe. How to travel by plane

Carcassonne has a small airport. The airport is named "Aeroport de Carcassonne-Salvaza" and the Irish carrier Ryanair flies direct to Carcassonne from London (Stansted), Brussels (Charleroi), Dublin, Frankfurt (Hahn), Leeds, Liverpool, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Bournemouth and Shannon. It is possible to rent a car at the airport. Taxis are also available. Ryanair also serves the regional airports of Montpellier and Perpignan. Both airports are approximately one-and-a-half hour drive from Carcassonne away.

Alternatively one could use the international airport 'Blagnac' in Toulouse. Toulouse is located 80 kilometres to the west of Carcassonne. Many airlines fly direct from Amsterdam (KLM); London (British Airways and Air France); Brussels (SN Brussels Airways); Frankfurt (Lufthansa); and Paris (Air France) to Toulouse. It is possible to rent a car at the airport. One could also take the train from Toulouse to Carcassonne.

How to travel by Train

Carcassonne has a train station with direct connections to Toulouse and Montpellier. Both Toulouse and Montpellier are part of the European network of high-speed trains. If you are thinking about travelling to Le Trabet by train we suggest that you contact your national train operator. It's possible to rent a car at Hertz in Carcassonne. The Hertz office is located just outside the Carcassonne railway station.
